James Miranda is a Canadian songwriter and multi-instrumentalist pursuing where the modern age takes the timeless entity that is the folk tune. James’ music lays its foundation in folk, folk-punk, psych rock, and jamband stylings while venturing off into ethereal soundscapes drawn from post-punk/martial industrial and dismal sonic devastations of funeral doom/atmospheric black metal/neo-folk in an exhaustive exploration of emotive evocations in art. Following the trail of tradition paved by the likes of Gordon Lightfoot and Neil Young, James delves into the beauty of his homeland, social commentary, spiritual inquiry, and delirious abstractions through song.
